The Sixers have not won since January 29th when former-Sixers forward Evan Turner hit a game-winning shot at the buzzer. Since then they have dropped a franchise-record 21 consecutive games and are creeping up on the 1961 Phillies Philadelphia record of 23-straight losses and are not far removed from the NBA-record 26-straight losses set by the Cleveland Cavaliers in 2010-11.
Tanking. Rebuilding. Whatever, they're not winning games.
Sixers head coach Brett Brown said the key is "understanding the short-term pain for a lot of long-term gain." Brown told CSN Philly, "to truly rebuild and grow something is going to take three to five years."
There you have it. There is the timeline in the heads of the Sixers's coaching staff and it might be a little longer than some may have imagined.
