That has not gone entirely according to plan. Last week it was announced that forward Arnett Moultrie would miss half the season with an ankle injury. Now CSN Philly's John Finger reports that center Spencer Hawes is hobbled with a knee injury or sorts. The team have not divulged any details.
Hawes, 25, played in all 82 games last season for the 76ers, starting 40 of them. He averaged 11.0 points, 7.2 rebounds, and 1.4 assists in 27.2 minutes per game. He is expected to be a key contributor on the Sixers front-line this season after the Andrew Bynum fiasco last year.
Just as a side note because I find it funny: Hawes was fined earlier this offseason (ironically, along with new Sixers guard Tony Wroten) by the NBA for participating in a Washington Huskies alumni game.
