With the 50th pick of the night the 76ers chose Temple's Lavoy Allen. Allen graduated from Pennsbury High School and went on to star for Fran Dunphy at Temple so he has a chance to play for his hometown team. Last season for the Owls Allen average 11.6 ppg and 8.6 rpg. He adds more depth for the frontcourt, but he was very inconsisent during his career at Broad and Cecil B. Allen learned to play defense first under Dunphy and could bring toughness to the Sixers should he overcome some of the lazy mental mistakes that plagued his collegiate career. Make no mistake Temple fans: Allen was a power forward on a very solid Owl team; however, it remains to be seen if he will make any impact on the next level.
