The Sixers announced they have waived shooting guard James Anderson, he was due to make $981,000 this season. Anderson started 62 of the 80 games he played for the Sixers.
It is a little surprising the 76ers just waived their starting shooting guard which leads you to believe the player might have wanted a chance to play for a team that is in line for more immediate success. The 25-year-old Anderson averaged 10.1 points and 3.8 rebounds in 28.9 minutes per game last season for Philadelphia.
The James Anderson era in Philadelphia was largely marred by blowout losses and dismal performances but there was that one time he went off for 36 points in an overtime victory against the Houston Rockets.
