The Atlanta Braves had fireworks for announcing their roster in their home opener last night. Fan Julie Paulk snapped the picture of the day as the American flag caught fire thanks to one (or a few) of the fireworks. Paulk posted the picture on Facebook with the caption: "WOW! The American flag caught on fire tonight at the opening day game! Glad I had my camera!"
I'm certainly no pyrotechnic expert but I would assume the basic checklist for shooting off fireworks goes something like:
- Get fireworks.
- Check to see if there is anything in the way or could get in the way of the fireworks.
- Light them.
I could be wrong but logic says that is how it goes. Number 2 must've been skipped - probably because they're leaving Turner Field soon anyways.
