This past season drove me crazy. It was all about LeBron, Wade, and, occasionally, Bosh. It was not about the Heat. Joel Anthony got a ton of face time as did Mike Miller. Not so much. The only time they got face time was when they walked in front of the camera when they were focusing on LeBron or when LeBron and Wade were both being double teamed and Bosh was on the bench. They had not choice but to pass it to those guys. It was atrocious.
The media is also to blame for this mess. Watching the Heat stumble to start the year was like watching a car wreck. You just can’t look away. And all the major networks were all over it and beating a dead horse. If I heard “Did LeBron make the right choice leaving Cleveland?” one more time, I was going to go insane. Then the Heat started playing up to expectations and the same networks started talking even more about LeBron. If I wanted to hear about anything else besides LeBron in the sports world, I needed to look it up online. It was absurd and, quite frankly, only added to my dislike for the Heat.
I am hoping that, within the next 7-10 days, talk of the Heat losing the 2011 NBA Finals will finally die down. I am tired of hearing about LeBron. How about we hear about the dominant player in the series, Dirk? No? Not interesting/scandalous for in depth coverage? Just please, I’m asking as a concerned citizen, spare us from the LeBron coverage. We would all greatly appreciate it.
