As seen on Steak and Eggs yesterday, Dunta Robinson laid out Jeremy Maclin with an illegal helmet to helmet hit. Robinson is a second time offender (the first time was on Desean Jackson last year) but the NFL decided that he should not be suspended but just fined $40,000. The Big East is scrambling at the moment. Losing the University of Pittsburgh and Syracuse University to the ACC really put them on their heels. So, last night, reports surfaced that the Big East and a fellow scrambling conference, the Big 12, are talking about a potential merger. The merger is contingent upon the potential loss of Texas and Oklahoma by the Big 12 to the Pac 12. More here.
