The Phillies dropped the series finale to the Giants last night 4-1. The Phils had opportunities to score seeing as they stranded runners in scoring position in the first, third, fifth, seventh, and ninth innings. Kyle Kendrick takes the loss for the Phillies and drops to 5-5. The Phillies’ lead in the NL East remains at 5 games as the Braves lost 5-2 to the Pirates. More here.
After five years as a New Orleans Saint, Reggie Bush is now a member of the Dolphins. The Dolphins traded for the former 2nd overall pick and signed him to a new two year contract. Bush will now be the featured back in the Dolphins backfield. More here.
A familiar face from the 2010 US Men’s World Cup will not be there in 2014. Head coach Bob Bradley was fired yesterday as head coach of the US Men’s National Team. A Gold Cup loss to Mexico in Los Angeles back in June left a sour taste in US soccer fans’ mouths. More here.
Chad Ochocinco and Albert Haynesworth were both traded to the New England Patriots yesterday. Haynesworth was traded for a 5th round pick in 2013 and Ochocino was traded to the Pats for two late round draft picks. Ochocinco agreed to a three year contract extension with the Patriots after being acquired. Tom Brady has a new target and Vince Wilfork now has Albert Haynesworth to form one of the scariest defensive lines in all of football. More here.
