Eagles' owner Jeffrey Lurie gave a 45 minute press conference yesterday in which he addressed the Eagles 8-8 season and many of their woes throughout the year. He also announced that head coach Andy Reid will be back as the head coach in 2012. More here.
Other NFL teams' front office personnel were not as lucky as Reid. The Chicago Bears fired GM Jerry Angelo and, in addition to Aneglo, offensive coordinator Mike Martz resigned. More here.
Another BCS bowl game went to overtime last night when the Michigan Wolverines and Virginia Tech Hokies couldn't solve things in the Sugar Bowl after 60 minutes. Virigina Tech forced overtime with a game-tying 25 yard field goal with two seconds remaining in the fourth quarter. The Hokies had a touchdown called back after official review that the receiver did not have complete control of the ball (controversial call- could have gone either way). VT missed the ensuing field goal and Michigan scored to win the Sugar Bowl. More here.
