Now former star Dionte Christmas signed with the Phoenix Suns. The Arizona Republic's Paul Coro reports that Christmas agreed multi-year deal with a small guarantee for this season. He signed a similar deal with the Boston Celtics last year before being waved in October.
Christmas, 26, spent the majority of last season playing for CSKA Moscow before being waived in February. He finished the year playing with Montepaschi Sienna in Italy. Christmas was on the Suns Summer League team averaging 10.1 points per game in 20.8 minutes.
The former Temple Owl was the co-Big 5 Player of the Year in 2009, along with Saint Joseph's forward Ahmad Nivins, while averaging 19.5 points per game. He led the Atlantic 10 in scoring for three consecutive seasons, the first player to ever do that.
