The Sixers welcomed the Charlotte Bobcats to the Wells Fargo Center last night. The Bobcats shot 53.2% from the field and an impressive 12-for-22 (54.5%) from beyond the arc. Al Jefferson posted his ninth double-double in his last 12 games and his 35th overall this season with 25 points and 10 rebounds. The Sixers shot 42.2% from the field but struggled from deep going just 4-for-18 (22.2%) as they lost 123-93. More here.
The Phillies were in Texas last night to wrap up their opening series against the Rangers looking for the series victory. Thanks to a Ryan Howard two-run home run, the Phillies were able to jump out to a 3-0 lead and took a 3-1 lead into the bottom of the ninth inning when the wheels came off. Jonathan Papelbon allowed three runs on five hits and two walks in 1/3 of an inning and the Rangers won 4-3. More here.
The NBA announced Sixers' point guard Michael Carter-Williams has won the Eastern Conference Rookie of the Month for the month of March. Carter-Williams is the first player franchise history to win Rookie of the Month three times having won the award for the months of November and January. More here.
