The Flyers were in action last night against the Buffalo Sabres at the Wells Fargo Center looking to snap their four-game losing streak. They jumped out to a 4-0 lead after two periods thanks to goals from Matt Read, Zac Rinaldo, Brayden Schenn and Vinny Lecavalier. In the third Rinaldo would get a match-penalty for head contact and Schenn would add his second of the game for a 5-2 Flyers win. More here.
The Phillies wrapped up their three-game series against the Cubs yesterday with A.J. Burnett taking the mound looking for the sweep. It did not get off to a good start. A.J. Burnett allowed four runs in the first inning marking the first time the Cubs scored more than one run in an inning this year. They would tack o four more unanswered in the sixth inning to take an 8-1 lead and go on to win by a final of 8-3. More here.
The Phillies have announced their home opener, originally scheduled for today at 3:05 pm, against the Milwaukee Brewers has been postponed until Tuesday at 4:05 pm due to "impending inclement weather.". All Home-Opener activities originally slated for today are pushed back 24 hours. The game will be broadcast on NBC 10. More here.
