The lead story is something that will be headline news for days, maybe weeks, and certainly every Sunday the Eagles take the field. Wide Receiver Riley Cooper was filmed about a month ago at the Kenny Chesney concert making a hateful racial slur. The fallout from this video will certainly affect the image of the 2013 Eagles and Chip Kelly's first year as head coach. The story first broke on Deadspin, and has been picked up by every news outlet since. It's a sad and disappointing situation to put an entire team through, and hopefully Cooper gets a serious reality check from all this. Riley Cooper's actions were certainly shameful, disgraceful, and ignorant, and let's just hope that his apology on tv last night, as well as to all of his teammates is sincere and heartfelt.
Ruben Amaro made no deals at the deadline, and stupidly has held on to the same subpar group of guys who have mustered a single win in their last ten games. More on the non-moves from the deadline in our feature post this morning, here. Also, a recap from another humiliating loss can be found here.
