The Phillies took on the Mets last night looking to rebound after their 5-0 shutout on Tuesday. Cole Hamels got the start for the Phillies and was strong allowing two runs on nine hits over seven innings. Texas A&M quarterback and reigning Heisman Trophy winner Johnny Manziel was handed his punishment from the NCAA yesterday after he was investigated for being compensated for signing autographs. Manziel will be suspended for the first half of the Aggies' opener vs. Rice on Saturday. More here.
Former Patriots tight end Aaron Hernandez, who was indicted on first-degree murder charges, is having a lot of his past revealed now that he is behind bars. Rolling Stone magazine reports that Hernandez was using PCP, also known as "angel dust", while carrying a gun with him due to paranoia.
