Last night the Phillies were looking to break out of their 1-13 stretch against the Chicago Cubs. Kyle Kendrick got the start and pitched decent going six innings allowing five runs (four earned) on six hits. Chase Utley went 3-for-4 with two runs scored. Darin Ruf, Michael Young, and Cody Asche all had two hits as they would hold on for a 9-8 victory. More here.
The Braves were looking for their 12th straight win last night as they took on the Nationals. Bryce Harper hit a long home run in the third inning and watched it from the batters box which got him hit in the fifth inning by Braves starter Julio Teheran. The Braves would put up two runs in the fifth and go on to win 2-1. More here.
More details are coming to light about the Johnny Manziel NCAA investigation. Reports have surfaced that claim the Heisman winner was paid $7,500 for autographs back in January.
