The Eagles announced this afternoon that their Week 16 game against the Chicago Bears has been flexed to the NBC Sunday Night Football "Game of the Week." The Bears big victory over the Cowboys on Monday night pulled them into a tie for the NFC North lead with the Detroit Lions. The Eagles win over the Lions combined with the Cowboys loss gives them a one-game cushion in the NFC East lead heading into the final three weeks of the season. More here.
Phillies reliever Mike Adams had surgery recently to repair a sports hernia. Adams could return to throwing soon but there is no timetable for his return. Adams is scheduled to make $7 million next season with a $6 million club option for 2015. More here.
The Angels, Diamondbacks and White Sox executed a three-team trade yesterday that sent outfielder Mark Trumbo to Arizona, outfielder Adam Eaton to Chicago, and pitchers Tyler Skaggs and Hector Santiago to Anaheim. More here.
