The Bulls came into the Wells Fargo Center looking to get a win on the same court where their season ended last year. It was a back and forth game the entire time. The Sixers led by three after the first quarter and at halftime but trailed by three after the third quarter as the Bulls stormed out of the locker room after halftime to outscore the Sixers 28-22. The Bulls would continue the pressure in the fourth quarter en route to a 96-89 victory. The Sixers went 2-for-14 (14.3%) from 3-point rang. Joakim Noah led the Bulls with 21 points and added seven rebounds and a five assists. Jrue Holiday paced the Sixers with 26 points while dishing out nine assists and five rebounds. More here.
Dallas Cowboys defensive tackle Josh Brent had a blood alcohol level of 0.18 when he crashed his vehicle killing teammate Jerry Brown. Brent was released on $500,000 bond but has been charged with intoxication manslaughter. Brent sat with Brown’s family during the memorial service. More here.
The Big East could be falling apart right before our eyes. It started with Pitt and Syracuse bolting for the ACC. Then West Virginia left for the Big 12. Now they might lose the seven Catholic non-FBS football schools in the Big East. The Atlantic 10 is said to be interested in taking in the seven schools. More here.
