Well the game did not start out the way the Eagles would have liked. Nick Foles found Jeremy Maclin on six yard pass when Bengals DE Carlos Dunlap stripped him giving the Bengals the ball just 49 seconds into the game. BenJarvus Green-Ellis would score a few plays later to put them up 7-0. Trailing 10-0 The Eagles buckled down and would get on the board in the second quarter on a Riley Cooper 11 yard touchdown reception. The Eagles had two strong drives that stalled inside the five yard line and Alex Henery hit a 22 and 20 yard field goal that put the Eagles up 13-10 at halftime. In the third quarter, the Eagles turned the ball over four times and that led to 24 unanswered Cincinnati points over four and a half minutes of game time to let the game get out of hand. The Big East might be history after the news yesterday. Seven Catholic, non-BCS football schools have voted to leave the Big East. Georgetown, DePaul, Marquette, Providence, St. John’s, Seton Hall, and Villanova all plan on leaving the Big East. Where they will go still remains a mystery. The Atlantic 10 is rumored to be interested in the schools and might be looking to make an entire Catholic conference already having schools like Saint Joseph’s University and La Salle University among others. Phillies fans are a little disappointed today as former AL MVP Josh Hamilton signed with the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim yesterday. Hamilton signed for five years, $125 million. He wanted a five year deal at $25 million a year coming into the offseason and, despite many doubters, he got what he wanted. More here.
