The Sixers struggled continued last night in Houston as they fell to the Rockets 125-103. The Sixers were outscored in three of the four quarters and did not score more than 28 points in any quarter. The Rockets scored 33 or more points in three of the four quarters and an astonishing 36 to close out the game in the fourth quarter. The 125 points allowed is the most allowed by the 76ers this season. James Harden led the Rockets with 33 points and seven assists. Four Sixers came off the bench and added 10+ points. The Jets are bad. Their 6-8 record does not reflect just how bad they really are. They made a move yesterday naming Greg Elroy the starter for Sunday’s game while benching former No. 6 overall pick Mark Sanchez. High profile backup Tim Tebow was less than happy that he was not named the Jets starter yesterday. The always-positive Tebow was upset when speaking with reporters yesterday. Today league sources are reporting that the Jets will look to move Sanchez after the season and will likely let Tebow go as well. More here.
The Cubs made a splash last offseason by bringing Theo Epstein over from the Boston Red Sox. Their play on the field did not improve unfortunately. This offseason they have been quiet with the exception of shopping around Alfonso Soriano and almost landing Dan Haren. Well they are closing in on their first big splash as reports are that they have a deal in place with free agent pitcher Edwin Jackson for $52 million over four years. More here.
