FLYERS COME BACK FROM THREE DOWN TO SCORE FOUR UNANSWERED, WIN 4-3
Pierre-Edouard Bellemare had a great chance, but was just stopped by goalie Jake Allen. Chris VandeVelde was behind him and snuck the puck through a hole in-between the post and Allen's left leg pad for a short-handed goal to get the game to 3-1. Shayne Gostisbehere broke up a St. Louis chance minutes later, and started a two-on-one for Jake Voracek and Wayne Simmonds, who would score on that chance. Voracek had a chance to tie the game on a wide-open net on the power play with seconds left in the second period, but missed.
The third started with the Flyers on that same power play, with Voracek's shot deflecting off of Simmonds to tie the game up at three less than a minute into the period. Then with about three minutes to go, Ryan White provided a fantastic pass to Evgeny Medvedev in the slot and Medvedev capitalized for the go-ahead goal. Medvedev looks like he finally has a place with the team after being scratched for most of November.
If this happened in October or November, I don't think this would have happened. In my opinion, I think that this team has what it takes to make a run at the playoffs. This is some of the best hockey this team has had since October, and I hope that it stays that way. The Flyers are off until Sunday night when they travel to take on Anaheim. It will be the start of their annual Disney On Ice road trip, but this year, it's only three games (Anaheim, San Jose, Los Angeles). (RECAP)
