After a great performance on Sunday night against the Chicago Bears, Eagles runningback LeSean McCoy was named NFC Offensive Player of the Week. He was coming off of an eight-carry, 38-yard rushing performance against the Vikings entering Sunday. McCoy rushed 18 times for a league-high 133 yards and two touchdowns in the Eagles' 54-11 Week 16 win over the Bears. More here.
Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo's status for Sunday's game against the Eagles for the NFC East title is up in the air. He is nursing a back injury and on Monday reports surfaced that he has a herniated disc that will require surgery and, subsequently, end his season. Yesterday Romo received an epidural shot to his back and his status should become clearer in 2-3 days. More here.
The Phillies have interest in a possible reunion with former reliever Ryan Madson and Madson is also interested in a possible return to Philadelphia. Madson has not thrown a pitch in a regular season game since he left Philadelphia following the 2011 season. More here.
