
The Eagles continued their changes yesterday as they announced that Nick Foles would remain the starting quarterback the rest of the season which put to rest any doubt that Foles would be benched in favor of Mike Vick when Vick got healthy. The New York Giants and Washington Redskins squared off on Monday Night Football last night. The Giants narrowly squeaked out a win in the teams’ first matchup this season. Last night it was the Redskins’ turn to squeak out a win. After holding the Giants to just three second half points after trailing 13-10 at halftime, the Redskins used a fourth quarter eight yard touchdown pass from Robert Griffin III to Pierre Garcon to take a 17-16 lead. That is all they would need as they would win by the same margin. The loss drops the Giants to 7-5 just one game ahead of the 6-6 Redskins and 6-6 Cowboys. More here.
The Heisman Trophy will be awarded on Saturday and last night the finalists were announced. Texas A&M freshman quarterback Johnny “Football” Manziel, Notre Dame linebacker Manti Te’o, and Kansas State quarterback Collin Klein are the three finalists who will be in attendance. Manziel is the favorite to take home the award and would be the first freshman in history to win the award. More here.
