- The Sixers were looking to avoid tying an NBA record last night in Minnesota. Michael Carter-Williams scored 20 points, dished out nine assists and grabbed nine rebounds. Robert Covington poured in 17 off the bench for the Sixers as Philadelphia got their first win of the year, 85-77.
- The Flyers were looking to snap their five-game losing streak in Anaheim last night. After a scoreless first period, each team would score three times in the second period. With five minutes remaining in the game, the Ducks scored on the power play to make it 4-3. With 2.6 second left in the game, Wayne Simmonds tied it with his second goal of the game. However, the Flyers would go on to lose in a shootout.
