The Flyers were in Detroit last night taking on the Red Wings on NBC's "Rivalry Night." The Red Wings jumped out to a 3-1 lead before Matt Read would make it 3-2 just before the end of the second period. The third period was all Flyers as they scored four goals, including two by Sean Couturier, to win 6-3. More here.
The Saint Joseph's Hawks traveled up Broad Street to Temple to take on Fran Dunphy and the Owls. it was a back-and-forth game with 11 lead changes and 11 ties in the first half alone as no team lead by more than five points. A strong second half from Dalton Pepper and Will Cummings led the Owls to a 77-69 win over their Big 5 foe. More here.
Pittsburgh Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin has been under heavy scrutiny after the stunt he pulled on Thanksgiving getting in the way of Jacoby Jones' kick return. The NFL dropped the hammer yesterday fining Tomlin $100,000 and is still considering the possibility of docking Pittsburgh of a draft pick. More here.
