The Phillies announced on Sunday they have officially signed A.J. Burnett to a one-year deal worth $16 million with a mutual option for 2015. The deal includes a limited no-trade clause which Burnett will submit a list of nine teams in which he would accept a trade. The 37-year-old went 10-11 with a 3.30 ERA and a 1.21 WHIP with the Pirates in 2013. More here.

Villanova took on Creighton last night looking to avenge their blowout loss to the Blue Jays last month at the Wells Fargo Center. Doug McDermott had another big game for Creighton as he dropped 39 points for the Blue Jays as they cruised to a 101-80 victory over the Wildcats. Creighton has now dealt Villanova two of their three losses this season.
