FLYERS OPEN UP UNOFFICIAL 2ND HALF OF SEASON WITH 4-2 WIN OVER CANADIENS
Then the third, where the Flyers retook the lead on another Simmonds goal from Voracek. But that was one of the stories from the period. The other were questionable calls from the refs. Earlier in the period, P.K. Subban lit up Simmonds, and Voracek got called for a rough, with nothing from Subban. Then near the end of the game, Radko Gudas made what looked like a nice hip check on Lucas Lessio, and play went on. Then a whistle as Evgeny Medvedev was about to take a shot. It ended up being a five-minute major for clipping (???) and a game-misconduct, which nobody liked. But the Flyers killed it, and Matt Read scored an empty netter, and the game was over. The Flyers travel to take on Nashville Thursday night. (RECAP)
In injury news that we hinted in the recap, Michal Neuvirth has a lower-body injury and is out for 7-10 days. Anthony Stolarz has been recalled from Lehigh Valley and will wear #65. He might see a game during this call-up.
Finally, the Flyers' game against the Islanders that wascancelled in January due to Winter Storm Jonas is now rescheduled for Sunday, April 10, which is now the last day of the regular season. The final Flyers game will not be at home against Pittsburgh the day before.
