The Flyers were in San Jose last night facing off against the Sharks. The Flyers would get on the board first but Matt Nieto would score the next two for the Sharks to put them up 2-1 heading into the third. But the Flyers have comeback before and did so in a hurry scoring three goals on their first three shots of the period just 3:56 into the third to take a 4-2 lead. They would go on to win 5-2 with Claude Giroux leading the way with three points. More here.
The Sixers took a trip up to Brooklyn to take on the Nets. Once again against the Nets, the Sixers had a rough third quarter as Brooklyn outscored Philadelphia 30-20. Last time these two teams met in Brooklyn, The Nets scored 42 points in the third quarter. Michael Carter-Williams had 21 points but the Sixers allowed 31 points off a season-high 26 turnovers as the Nets went on to win 108-102. More here.
Reports surfaced yesterday it is now a "Baltimore-Philadelphia-Pittsburgh runoff" to land free agent, starting pitcher A.J. Burnett, who reportedly wants to stay close to his Maryland home. The 37-year-old went 10-11 with a 3.30 ERA and a 1.21 WHIP with the Pirates in 2013 and would look great in Phillies pinstripes. More here.
