The Flyers announced on Tuesday that former head coach and general manager Keith Allen passed away at the age of 90. Allen joined the Flyers in 1966 and took over as general manager in 1969 building the foundation of the only two Stanley Cup Championship winning teams in franchise history in 1974 and 1975. Less than a month after bringing Charlie Manuel back to the team's front office, the Phillies announced on Tuesday that they will be inducting Manuel into the team's Wall of Fame on August 9th. In addition to Manuel's honor, the Phillies also announced plans for a Roy Halladay bobblehead night on August 8th. More here.
Ryan Madson will throw off a mound for teams on Friday, February 7th in Phoenix. The Phillies are one of a handful of teams interested in the right-handed reliever. On Christmas Eve, it was reported the Phillies have interest in a possible reunion with Madson and Madson is also interested in a possible return to Philadelphia. Madson has not thrown a pitch in a regular season game since he left Philadelphia following the 2011 season. More here.
