The Flyers were in action against Shea Weber and the Nashville Predators last night. The Flyers scored first but would play catch-up for the rest of the game. With the Flyers on the power play trailing 3-2 with 1:34 remaining in the third, Craig Berube called timeout to regroup. Just 10 seconds later, Kimmo Timonen's point blast was redirected by Scott Hartnell then again by Wayne Simmonds and into the net to tie the game 3-3. The Phillies have reportedly signed Kyle Kendrick to a one-year, $7.675 million deal avoiding arbitration, something the club has avoided seemingly every year for the last decade. Kendrick was the Phillies No. 3 starter last season and appears to have an inside track to the No. 3/4 spot. More here.
New Penn State head football coach James Franklin was in Philadelphia yesterday visiting recruits at Catholic League power house Archbishop Wood and Imhotep. Franklin was also at Catholic League power La Salle yesterday visiting junior quarterback Kyle Shurmur, son of Eagles offensive coordinator Pat Shurmur. More here.
