The Flyers and Flames faced off in the final game of 2013 last night in Calgary. It got started quickly for the Flyers as Mark Streit scored just 3:15 into the game. The Flames would tie it in the second period but only for a few minutes before Brayden Schenn put the Flyers up for good. Scott Hartnell would tip in a goal and Braydon Coburn would add an empty netter for a 4-1 victory, the team's fourth straight win. More here.
Penn State fans got some bad news to close of 2013, within two hours of the New Year too. Penn State head football coach Bill O'Brien will be the next head coach of the Texans. He heads to a team that lost 14-straight games to close out the regular season and locked up the No. 1 overall pick in next spring's NFL draft. More here.
All eyes are on Saturday to see how the Eagles and Saints fair in the confines of Lincoln Financial Field. What they're calling for this weekend is not what the Saints wanted to hear. The forecast for Lincoln Financial Field on Friday is calling for a high of 20 degrees and a low of just four degrees with 90% chance of precipitation. There is the potential for significant snow accumulation on Friday between 4-8 inches. Saturday looks dry but still frigid with an afternoon high of 26 degrees and a low of 16 degrees.
