The Flyers were in Columbus last night facing off against the Blue Jackets in the back half of a back-to-back. The Blue Jackets struck first but the Flyers scored the first two goals of the second period to take a 2-1 lead. The Blue Jackets would go on to score four unanswered en route to a 5-2 victory. The Flyers have not won in Columbus since December 2005 losing each of their last four games at Nationwide Arena. More here.
Phillies Hall of Famers Mike Schmidt can not make the trip to Clearwater as a field instructor, something he has done every year since 2002. The Phillies released a statement saying "Mike is treating a health issue that requires him to remain near his doctors." The statement did add that Schmidt still plans to visit camp in the middle of March for a marketing appearance. More here.
Forbes released their annual NBA valuations and the Sixers checked in at No. 23 out the 30 NBA teams in total value. Forbes valued the Sixers at $469 million which is not bad considering Josh Harris purchased the Sixers for $287 million in 2011. The teams that checked from 24-30 were the Grizzlies, Pistons, Timberwolves, Hawks, Pelicans, Bobcats, and Bucks. More here.
