TEMPLE UPSETS #23 UCONN; ST. JOE'S SOMEWHAT UPSET BY VCU
- Fran Dunphy became the fifth head coach to get 200 wins at two different schools as the Owls upset #23 UConn 55-53 on the road. Josh Brown hit the game-winner with two seconds left, as he and Jaylen Bond each had 11 on the night. Quenton DeCosey had 15 to lead all Owls, while Devin Coleman had 14. Shonn Miller had a game-high 18 points, while Rodney Purvis had 11 for the Huskies. Temple returns home Saturday night as they host East Carolina at 9 PM. (RECAP)
- Mo Alie-Cox scored 10 straight points out of a total of 14 as VCU came back from 13 down to beat the Hawks 85-82, ending St. Joe's seven-game win streak. Isaiah Miles recorded 31 points, his second outing with at least 30 points on the season, while DeAndre' Bembry had 17 points along with seven rebounds and eight assists. James Demery had 11 off the bench. For the Rams, Melvin Johnson led all scorers with 25 points, while JeQuan Lewis had 19.
