The Sixers welcomed the Minnesota Timberwolves to the Wells Fargo Center last night looking to extend their season-high four-game winning streak to five. Minnesota was deadly from deep going 16-for-26 (61.5%) from beyond the arc while the Sixers were 8-for-18 (44.4%) from three-point range. Minnesota center Nikola Pekovic recorded the game's only double-double with 16 points and 14 rebounds as the Timberwolves cruised to a 126-95 victory. More here.
Flyers defenseman Mark Streit has been officially named to Switzerland's 25-man roster headed for Sochi, Russia in February for the 2014 Winter Olympic games. More here.

He joins teammates Michael Raffl and Mark Streit who are also headed to Sochi to represent their nations and will be paired with former-teammate Jaromir Jagr once again. More here.
Florida State and Auburn met last night in the final BCS Championship Game ever. After falling behind 3-0, the Auburn Tigers scored 21 unanswered points to take a commanding lead. Florida State cut it to 21-10 right before halftime. In the second half they would cut it to 21-20 before Auburn marched downfield to kick a field goal to make it 24-20. Florida State responded by taking the kickoff all the way back for the go-ahead touchdown to make it 27-24. Auburn then marched down field and capped off the drive on a Tre Mason touchdown run to make it 31-27 with 1:19 remaining. It was too much time for Jameis Winston who drove down the field and found Kelvin Benjamin on a two-yard touchdown pass with 13 seconds left to win the BCS National Championship 34-31.
