The Phillies were looking to avoid a sweep last night against the Cardinals with Kyle Kendrick on the mound. Kendrick had an alright game going six innings allowing three runs on five hits. Unfortunately the Phillies could not capitalize on five hits and four walks off St. Louis starter Lance Lynn. Three separate Cardinals drove in runs and they would go on to win 3-1. More here.
The Aaron Hernandez situation seems to keep getting worse and worse for the former Patriots tight end. Photos released from his own surveillance system yesterday show a man, identified as Hernandez, holding what appears to be a gun shortly after the murder of Odin Lloyd. More here.
The Phillies have placed All-Star left fielder Domonic Brown on the seven-day concussion disabled list. Brown, 25, underwent a battery of tests Wednesday and got the results back today that he has a concussion. The All-Star injured himself diving for a ball in Tuesday's 4-1 loss to the Cardinals.
