The Phillies were looking for the series victory yesterday against the Mets as John Lannan took the hill for the Phillies while the Mets coutnered with Matt Harvey. Harvey was spectacular as he went six innings allowing no runs on two hits before his start was cut short by a 20 minute rain delay in the seventh inning. David Wright went 4-for-5 with four extra base hits, two RBI, and two runs scored. The Mets would go on to shutout the Phillies 8-0. More here.
The Flyers were heavily interested in Kings backup goaltender Jonathan Bernier over the course of the past week. It all came to an end yesterday as Los Angeles dealt the 24 year old to the Toronto Maple Leafs. Toronto sent goaltender Ben Scrivens, forward Matt Frattin and a second round pick to the Kings for Bernier's services. More here.
It was on, then off, then back on, then off again. It finally was back on again on Sunday; only this time it was on long enough to become official. The Los Angeles Clippers and Boston Celtics agreed to terms that sent head coach Doc Rivers to Los Angeles for an unprotected first round pick in the 2015 draft. Rivers also agreed to a new three year, $21 million. More here.
