The Phillies were looking to end their three-game losing streak last night against the Marlins. Jimmy Rollins had a great game going 2-for-2 with a walk, a run scored and two stolen bases. Cody Asche put up another extra-base hit going 1-for-4 with a double, two RBIs and a run scored. Garrett Jones had a good night for the Marlins going 2-for-4 with his 10th home run of the year and two RBIs but the Phillies rolled to a 7-4 victory. More here.
The Phillies announced on Tuesday they have signed former-All Star outfielder Grady Sizemore to a minor-league contract. Sizemore is expected to join the Lehigh Valley Iron Pigs on Thursday. The contract includes an out clause for July meaning he must be brought up to the Phillies or he can ask for his release. More here.
ESPN announced the four finalists for Best Breakthrough Athlete at the ESPY Awards and Eagles quarterback Nick Foles is one of the finalists. In addition to Foles, Seahawks cornerback Richard Sherman, Yankees pitcher Masahiro Tanaka and Trail Blazers point guard Damian Lillard are also finalists. More here.
