The Sixers were looking to avoid making history for all the wrong reasons last night against the Pacers. A loss to Indiana would seal a franchise-record 21 straight losses for the Sixers. It did not go as the 76ers planned as Lance Stephenson went off for 25 points while All-Star Paul George was right behind him with 24 for the Pacers. Thaddeus Young had 23 points and Michael Carter-Williams put up a double-double with 15 points and 13 rebounds but it wasn't enough as the Sixers lost 99-90. More here.
The Eagles announced Monday they have re-signed safety Nate Allen to a one-year deal reportedly worth $2 million with $1 million worth of incentives. Allen has spent his first four NFL seasons with the Eagles after being drafted 37th overall out of South Florida in the 2010 NFL Draft. He has been an unrestricted free agent since free agency began earlier this month. More here.
The Phillies officially announced on Monday Cliff Lee will be the team's Opening Day starter on March 31st against the Texas Rangers. It is Lee's second-career Opening Day start and his first in Philadelphia - his first career Opening Day start was ironically for the Texas Rangers. More here.
