The Flyers were in New York last night taking on the Rangers and looking for their first win at Madison Square Garden since February 2011. The Rangers scored a goal in each period to go up 3-0 when Jake Voracek scored his 100th career goal late in the third period. It was too little, too late as the Flyers lost 3-1. More here.
The Phillies have announced they released relief pitcher Michael Stutes on Wednesday. This comes just two weeks after he was outrighted off the 40-man roster, cleared waivers and reported to minor league camp. The Phillies re-assigned him, and six others, to minor league camp two days prior to his outright. More here.
The Flyers agreed to terms with University of New Hampshire center Kevin Goumas on an AHL-only contract for next season. Goumas reported to the Adirondack Phantoms on Wednesday on an amateur tryout. More here.
Veteran outfield Bobby Abreu did not man the Phillies Opening Day roster. This all comes one day after Abreu and the team agreed to push back his opt out date from today to Sunday. Abreu signed a minor league deal with the Phillies back in January. More here.
The Ontario Hockey League has suspended London Knights goaltender, and Philadelphia Flyers prospect, Anthony Stolarz eight games for his slash to the head of Windsor Spitfires forward Josh Ho-Sang in last night's game the Knights announced on Wednesday. More here.
