The Sixers welcomed the Milwaukee Bucks to the Wells Fargo Center last night for Fan Appreciation Night. The 76ers played well in the first half and held a six point lead at halftime. The third quarter did not go as planned and the Bucks used a late run in the quarter to take a two point into the fourth. The Sixers stifled the Bucks in the fourth quarter holding Milwaukee to just 14 points and the 76ers would go on to win 100-92. Spencer Hawes had 15 points and an incredible 17 rebounds. More here.
Flyers fans woke up with morning sickness today. Overnight the Pittsburgh Penguins acquired six-time NHL all-star Jarome Iginla from the Calgary Flames. Iginla, who spent his entire 15 year NHL career with the Flames, had been the Flames captain since 2003. He has nine goals and 13 assists this season. Iginla, the league’s fifth leading active scorer, joins Sidney Crosby and Evgeni Malkin to make the Penguins, who have won 13 straight games, the Stanley Cup favorites. More here.
Speaking of win streaks, the Miami Heat were looking to extend their win streak to 28 games last night at the United Center as they took on the Chicago Bulls. The Bulls jumped out to a 10 lead after the first quarter and had a nine point lead heading into the locker rooms. The Heat used a strong third quarter to cut the Bulls lead to one heading into the fourth. Unfortunately for Heat fans LeBron James could only do so much as the Bulls snapped the win streak at 27 games with a 101-97 victory. James had 32 points in the loss and Luol Deng scored 28 points and grabbed seven rebounds for Chicago in the victory. More here.
