The Phillies were looking for another series victory against the Miami Marlins yesterday afternoon in South Florida. Marlon Byrd tied the game in the eighth inning with a 425+ foot two-run home run in the eighth inning. Jimmy Rollins got another hit to take sole possession of second place all-time on the Phillies career hit list with 2,218 but Christian Yelich's only hit of the game was the game-winner as he singled home Ozuna with two outs in the bottom of the ninth to win it for Miami 4-3. Phillies general manager Ruben Amaro Jr. is a potential candidate to replace Selig along with MLB COO Rob Manfred and Dodgers owner Stan Kasten behind the favorite, Disney CEO and Chairman Bob Iger. Amaro took over general manager responsibilities following Pat Gillick's retirement at the end of the 2008 season. More here.
Major League Baseball announced the representatives for each team at the Entry Draft on June 5th and the Phillies representatives will be former broadcasters Chris Wheeler and Gary Matthews, who are still employed by the Phillies as ambassadors.
