In the first round of the NFL Draft last night, the Philadelphia Eagles selected Louisville defensive end Marcus Smith with the 26th overall pick in the 2014 NFL Draft. The Eagles acquired the 26th overall pick, along with the 83rd overall pick, from the Cleveland Browns in exchange for the 22nd overall pick. The Browns selected Texas A&M quarterback Johnny Manziel at No. 22. More here.
The Phillies were looking to snap their three-game losing streak to the Blue Jays last night in Toronto. It did not go well. Edwin Encarnacion went 3-for-4 with two home runs and three RBIs. Juan Francisco had himself a night going 3-for-3 with a walk, a double, a home run, an RBI and three runs scored. The Phillies team ERA increased from 3.98 to 4.44 since they arrived in Toronto.

The Eagles announced they have parted ways with public address announcer Dan Baker, who has been the Eagles public address announcer for the last 29 seasons. Eagles president Don Smolenski said they will begin the search for a new public address announcer immediately and will be working with an outside agency to fill the role. More here.
