The Sixers were back home last night after going 3-0 on their most recent road trips. The Bucks came in undefeated on the road and left the same way. Behind 33 points from Brandon Jennings and outrebounding the Sixers 48-31, the Bucks were able to leave with a 105-96 victory. Reports surfaced yesterday that Eagles coach Andy Reid was going to “rest” Michael Vick for the rest of the season and play Nick Foles. Last night, ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported that the Eagles will start Foles instead of Vick on Sunday against the Washington Redskins. Vick was knocked out of the game last Sunday with a concussion. Both the Eagles and Redskins are 3-6 this year. More here.
Major League Baseball’s first two postseason awards were given out yesterday. To no one’s surprise Millville native Mike Trout of the Los Angeles Angels took home the American League Rookie of the Year honors. In the National League, Bryce Harper took home the Rookie of the Year award. More here.
Entering last night, the Kansas City Chiefs had not held a lead in regulation at all. They got on the board with 8:37 left in the first quarter on a 12 yard Jamaal Charles run. The Steelers tied the game up and took 13-10 lead. On 4th and 15 with 21 seconds left, Matt Cassel found Dwayne Bowe across the middle to set up a Ryan Succop 46 yard game tying field goal with no time on the clock to send it to overtime. On the second play in overtime, Cassel found Lawrence Timmons, of the Steelers, who took the interception back to the five yard line. Shaun Suisham came in and hit the 23 yard field goal. More here.
