The Flyers traded fan-favorite Max Talbot to the Colorado Avalanche in exchange for former Flyers' first-round pick Steve Downie. Downie, 26, was a first-round pick of the Flyers in the 2005 NHL Draft. He played 32 games for the Flyers as a 20-year-old in 2007-08 scoring six goals and adding with 73 penalty minutes. He was traded early in the 2008-09 season to the Tampa Bay Lightning in exchange for Matt Carle. More here.
The Bengals and Dolphins squared off on Thursday Night Football last night in a wild matchup. The Dolphins raced out to a 17-3 lead before the Bengals would come back to tie it at 17 then take a 20-17 lead with less than two minutes remaining. The Dolphins drove down to tie the game and force overtime. After two failed Dolphins drives and one failed Bengals drive, Cincinnati was looking to drive down the field to win but Cameron Wake had other ideas as he sacked Andy Dalton in the end zone for a walk-off safety and a 22-20 Miami victory. The 49ers made a surprising roster move yesterday activating linebacker Aldon Smith off the non-injury list. He entered an alcohol treatment center on September 23rd after being arrested on suspicion of drunken driving. He was released from the center this week and will likely play November 10th against Carolina. More here.
