The Eagles just cannot get it done. On Monday Night Football, the Eagles went 0-for-5 in the red zone mustering just six points on two field goals. The lowly Saints defense intercepted Michael Vick and took it 99 yards the other way for a touchdown. The lowly Saints defense managed seven sacks on Michael Vick. The lowly Saint defense held the Eagles to 13 points after allowing 24 or more points to each of their first seven opponents. The Saints, ranked dead last in rushing, were able to run at will over an Eagles defense that looked like it had never attempted a tackle before. The Sixers were in action last night to make matters worse. The Knicks, who beat the Sixers by 16 on Sunday, came in and slaughtered the Sixers last night too. The Knicks outscored the Sixers in every quarter last night en route to a 110-88 victory. Carmelo Anthony led all scorers with 21 points to push the Knicks to 3-0 and drop the 76ers to 1-2 on the year. More here.
The NFL Bounty Scandal took another turn yesterday. Former NFL commissioner Paul Tagliabue will not recuse himself as the arbitrator for the hearing for the New Orleans Saints players. The players argued that Tagliabue is a member of the law firm that is representing current commissioner Roger Goodell which makes him biased. More here.
