The Sixers took on the Wizards last night at home. The Wizards hit a franchise-record 18 three-pointers going 18-for-33 (54.5%) while the Sixers were just six-for-18 (33.3%). For the fourth consecutive game, the Sixers fell behind by double-digits after the first quarter trailing Washington 39-27 Wizards center Marcin Gortat was a force for Washington putting up 19 points and grabbing 12 rebounds. The Eagles announced today that Nick Foles has been named the NFC Offensive Player of the Week award after his record-setting seven-touchdown performance against the Oakland Raiders on Sunday. Foles, 24, completed the game with 22 completions on 28 attempts for 406 yards with a franchise and NFL-record seven touchdown passes. Foles accomplished all of this in three quarters only having the ball for 15:56. More here.
The Chicago Bears and Green bay Packers renewed their rivalry on Monday night. Apparently one married couple took the bet to a new extreme. A man in Illinois tasered his wife three times after she lost a bet on the game. She called police after the third time because she thought her husband took it too far. More here.
