The Flyers were looking to put an end to their losing streak as they hosted the Canucks last night. Tye McGinn gave the Flyers a 1-0 lead in the first before Ryan Kesler tied it for Vancouver on a fluky bounce off the boards. McGinn put the Flyers up 2-1 in the second with his second of the night. Protecting the lead in the third, the Flyers allowed two goals to the Canucks and fell 3-2 in regulation. More here.
The Detroit Tigers were looking to take a 2-1 series lead over the Red Sox at home with Justin Verlander on the mound. Verlander was dealing as, once again, another Tigers pitcher took a no-hitter into the sixth inning. In the seventh Verlander made a mistake to Mike Napoli who hit a solo home run to left center field. He was previously 0-for-6 with six strikeouts in the series. It was all Boston would need as they rolled to a 1-0 lead to go up 2-1 in the series. More here.
The Dodgers were looking to even the NLCS at 2-2 last night hosting the Cardinals at Dodger Stadium. Matt Holiday's two-run home run helped the Cardinals to a three-run third inning. The Dodgers responded with two in the fourth but a Shane Robinson pinch-hit home run in the seventh gave St. Louis some cushion as they went on to win 4-2 and go up 3-1 in the series. More here.
