The Penguins struck first on an odd-man rush shot from Jussi Jokinen midway through the second period. Two and a half minutes later after a scramble in front of the net, Chris Kunitz would give the Penguins a 2-0 lead. With the Flyers on the power play late in the second period, Claude Giroux ripped a shot from the face-off circle that was redirected by Wayne Simmonds to beat Marc-Andre Fleury and cut Pittsburgh lead in half. Unfortunately it would end there as the Penguins would get two late goals to win 4-1. More here.
The Tigers and Red Sox squared off last night with the series even at 2-2. Boston's Mike Napoli went 3-for-4 with a solo home run in the second inning. The Red Sox put up four runs in the first three innings but the offense shut down. Detroit slowly made a comeback getting a run in the fifth, sixth, and seventh innings but that was all they got as Boston won 4-3. More here.
The Seattle Seahawks took on the Arizona Cardinals on Thursday Night Football last night. Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson was 18-for-29 passing the ball for 235 yards and three touchdowns while not throwing any interceptions. He got help from running back Marshawn Lynch who had 91 yards on the ground and a touchdown helping Seattle to a 34-22 win. More here.
