The Phillies have started their offseason overhaul yesterday. They announced that they have decided not to bring back pitching coach Rich Dubee ending his nine-year run as the team's pitching coach and 13-year Phillies tenure. More here.
The Tampa Bay Rays and Texas Rangers squared off in Game 163 last night to decide who would take home the second AL Wild Card. The Rays sent David Price to the mound and he was on his game allowing two runs on seven hits with a walk and four strikeouts in a complete-game gem. A third inning Evan Longoria home run was the game winner as it game Tampa a 3-2 lead and they would rol to a 5-2 victory to earn a playoff birth. More here.
Despite being 4-0, everything is not perfect with the Patriots. Defensive tackle Vince Wilfork will likely miss the rest of the season with a torn right Achilles tendon. Wilfork suffered the injury in the first quarter of New England's 30-23 win over the Atlanta Falcons on Sunday Night Football. More here.
