The San Francisco Giants have ridden their hot streak into the World Series. Starter Madison Bumgarner was brilliant last night for the Giants as he pitched seven shutout innings allowing just two hits. The Tigers were stymied by Bumgarner and could not catch any breaks. In the second inning the Tigers were threatening when Prince Fielder was sent home on a Delmon Young double but was thrown out at the plate by Marco Scutaro. The Fielder play was big because, had he stayed at third, the Tigers would have had runners on second and third with no outs. Moments later, Tigers starter Doug Fister was hit in the head with a Gregor Blanco line drive that ended up in centerfield. The Giants scored a run a piece in the seventh and eighth innings while mustering just one hit in those two innings. The Giants take a 2-0 series lead heading to Detroit. More here.

The Bucs handled the Vikings 36-17 to push their record to 3-4 and drop the Vikings to 5-3 on the year. More here.
