The Flyers took on the Anaheim Ducks last night at the Wells Fargo Center. Matt Read got the Flyers on the board 3:40 into the game to put them up 1-0. Vinny Lecavalier's fifth goal of the season that gave the Flyers a 2-0 lead late in the first. The Ducks got on the board on the only second period goal by Andrew Cogliano. The Ducks dominated the third period out-shooting the Flyers 16-6 with Kyle Palmieri scoring both Ducks' goals to give them a 3-2 lead and a 3-2 victory. More here.
The Rawlings Gold Glove award winners were announced yesterday. The Royals (LF Alex Gordon, 1B Eric Hosmer, C Salvador Perez) and Orioles (3B Manny Machado, SS J.J. Hardy, CF Adam Jones) led all teams with three selections apiece. More here.
The Heat opened their season last night against the Bulls before coming to Philadelphia. LeBron James had a strong game against Chicago with 17 points, eight assists, and six rebounds for the Heat. Miami had seven of the nine players who entered the game in double figures led by James' 17 as the Heat rolled to a 107-95 victory. More here.
